Agency 241 is Cal State Long Beach’s student‑run marketing agency specializing in social media marketing and creative strategy. We work with real local businesses to help them grow through impactful branding and data-driven campaigns.

Our diverse teams are a blend of creative thinkers, comprising students majoring in marketing, communication, art, and more. By applying classroom knowledge to real-world projects, students sharpen their skills and businesses gain fresh ideas tailored to their goals.

We start with market research to uncover insights on competitors, trends, and audience engagement, to develop a strategy that will target your marketing needs. We focus on strengthening customer relationships through targeted campaigns, data analytics, and potential loyalty programs.

For e-commerce, we offer store setup, streamlined payment and shipping, and product storytelling. Our social media services build a consistent and engaging presence with tailored content, influencer outreach, and analytics. Our digital marketing solutions optimize websites and SEO to help you attract and retain customers.

OUR SERVICES

Market
Research

We conduct our research in order to gain empirical data to compare results and track the progress being made. We conduct analytical research on social media handles, A/B testing, and user engagement. In order to reach your business’s goal, we do competitor and industry analysis.

Consumer
Relationship
Management

This is key to retaining customers both through data and campaigning. We offer analytics on website traffic and engagement through Google Analytics and turn that data into profitable campaigns. We also use marketing techniques to implement loyalty programs for your business.

E-Commerce

We provide help with further developing your business into the e-commerce marketplace. Our capabilities include setting up shopping cart servers, working out shipping and payment services, and creating content and descriptions for products through the art of storytelling.

Social
Media

We provide social media marketing by exposing our brands to influencers, creating content and calendars to insure consistent exposure on social media, and overall creating a consistent brand for our clients. By using analytical tools we can tailor our services to each client.

Digital
Marketing

Through digital marketing, we develop websites and content for our clients businesses. Having an online presence will provide a point of contact for their customers. By using search engine optimization and email marketing we can obtain and retain customers.

Team Structure

Account Manager

The Account Manager is your primary link between you and Agency 241’s directors. They keep you informed on campaign progress and coordinate updates throughout the project. From launch to optimization to final reporting, they manage every step to ensure timely, successful delivery that meets your goals.

Strategic Planner

The Strategic Planner researches and analyzes market trends to develop recommendations to improve key performance indicators. They explore and evaluate strategic opportunities to gain a deep understanding of target audiences and deliver innovative solutions to spark community engagement. By staying up to date on digital trends, they identify new ways to create growth for your brand.

Social Media Coordinator

The Social Media Coordinator helps shape the brand’s online presence by creating engaging content and managing the social media calendar. They handle publishing across all channels, explore new ways to boost engagement, track key performance metrics, and recommend strategies for growth while collaborating with the team to plan impactful social activations.

Photographer

The Photographer captures and edits high-quality photo and video content that supports your goals and reflects the brand identity. They work closely with the team to integrate visuals into campaigns, using Photoshop or similar editing tools to enhance the final product. *access to a professional camera is required for this role*

Copywriter

The Copywriter creates marketing copy for a range of formats, including social media posts, website content, and promotional communications. They craft original copy and edit or proofread materials as needed for both the client and the team, ensuring that the materials reflect the brand’s tone and voice.

Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer creates marketing decks and develops new design concepts that align with the brand. They prepare ideas to present for feedback and refine designs as needed. *proficiency in Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is required for this role*

Website Designer

The Website Designer develops and designs websites that align with the client’s brand and vision. They collaborate with the team to incorporate content and graphics to create a cohesive and functional layout. *proficiency in Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, or other website builders is required for this role*

Committee Structure

Graphic Designer and Social Media Coordinator

As a Social Media Coordinator for Agency 241, I create engaging digital content across the organization’s platforms, including designing graphics and curating Instagram stories that align with the Agency’s voice and goals. In my role as a committee member, I collaborate with team members to brainstorm creative ideas, contribute to campaign planning, and help maintain a consistent and professional online presence that supports Agency 241’s brand and outreach efforts.

Videographer/Editor

This role includes Strategic Content creation which entails directing and producing reels/ other video content per week tailored to our Agency audience. Leading “content days” by communicating vision into actionable storyboards to align with our brand aesthetic. Collaborating alongside Committee members and Directors to optimize our content creation and improve overall success of the program. Responsiveness in Slack and cross-functional communication to ensure projects meet standards/deadlines.

Strategic Planner

As a Strategic Planner/Analyst for Agency 241, I develop and execute content strategies across TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn to support both brand awareness and client goals. Responsibilities include building and managing a comprehensive content calendar, ensuring consistency, timeliness, and alignment with campaign objectives throughout the semester. My role involves brainstorming and planning creative concepts, including promotional ideas, content series, and engaging social media posts, as well as creating detailed shot lists and itineraries to guide events. I analyze performance metrics using Meta Business Suite to refine strategies and optimize content. Beyond digital strategy, I contribute to team collaboration by organizing social events and brainstorming interactive games/activities for these events that strengthen team dynamics that enhance the agency experience.
