AMA Long Beach connects members with marketing professionals from leading brands and agencies, including SoFi, DreamWorks, Saatchi & Saatchi, and more. Through these guest speaker events, students gain real insight into different career paths, industry trends, and day to day experiences in the marketing field.

These sessions are designed to be interactive, allowing members to ask questions, build connections, and receive advice on navigating their own professional journeys.

We are proud to maintain strong relationships with top companies and agencies across Southern California, allowing us to continuously bring in a diverse range of speakers. Check out our calendar to stay updated on upcoming guest speaker events.

FIRM TOURS

Our firm tour program allows members to visit leading agencies and corporations, across Southern California. These experiences provide an inside look into how companies operate, their team culture, and the wide range of roles within the marketing industry.

Each tour includes time with professionals for a Q&A session, where members can hear firsthand about career journeys, day-to-day responsibilities, and advice on breaking into the field. These conversations allow students to gain practical insights while building meaningful connections with industry professionals.

Firm tours are also a valuable opportunity to expand your network across different industries and explore potential career paths. We believe the best way to learn is through real world exposure, so we encourage members to come prepared, ask thoughtful questions, and make the most of each experience.

Workshops

Our workshop series is designed to provide members with hands on, practical experience that supports their professional growth throughout the semester. Each month, we host two workshops centered around a specific professional development theme.

The first workshop is led by our Corporate Relations team and focuses on building foundational skills such as resume development, interview preparation, and personal branding. The second workshop brings in industry professionals who provide real-world insight, share their experiences, and offer guidance aligned with that month’s theme.

By combining internal skill building with external industry perspective, our workshops are designed to help members feel more confident and prepared as they navigate their career paths.

SOCIAL EVENTS

Networking with your peers is something that we consider to be extremely valuable. For that reason, our chapter makes an effort to build experiences our members will never forget.

Every semester, we host multiple social events where our members are able to network and create long-lasting friendships. At our events, we welcome individuals from all organizations to ensure that our members have the opportunity to truly expand their network.

During the 2025-2026 academic year, we have many events planned. So far, we've hosted a beach bonfire and funny presentation social, to name a couple. We hope to see you there!

PHILANTHROPY

Our philanthropic partner for the year is Love Beyond Limits!

Love Beyond Limits  (LBL) is a nonprofit organization based in Long Beach, California, dedicated to empowering the youth of our city. Through social and emotional learning, family education, and leadership development, LBL equips young people with the skills, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Founded over 13 years ago, LBL has supported at-risk youth and their families through its 13 Stones Program. Over the course of 13 weeks, families learn how to foster healthy relationships, strengthen family dynamics, and develop self-awareness, accountability, and other essential life skills. The program also prepares youth to become future leaders by providing education in financial literacy, advocacy, and college and career readiness. Through their Youth Board, high school students and young adults gain hands-on experience in leadership and nonprofit management.

Beyond its educational programs, LBL serves the Long Beach community through food and toy drives, community festivals, retreats, and other outreach initiatives. Guided by its values of harmony, love, respect, and community, LBL continues to make a lasting impact for several families across this city.

As part of our commitment to giving back, AMA proudly supports Love Beyond Limits through fundraising, volunteering, and awareness initiatives. We also offer the opportunity for students to join a committee to help organize our community service events. Be sure to check our calendar and social media for upcoming opportunities, and join us in giving a little love back to the Long Beach community!
